REMEMBRANCES OF THINGS PAST
Old Room

This shot shows the interior of a room where coal miners and their families lived years ago.  In those days the miners came home to houses owned by the coal company and which were barely more than shacks.  But their families made the shacks into homes. I felt a sense of age and almost loneliness when I shot this image at Beckley, WV, on the grounds of an exhibition mine that was worked until the mid 20th century.  Shot with a Canon Powershot Pro 1 camera.
