RAILING AGAINST THE LIGHT
window inside old lighthouse

A montage of two shots form this image.  Sunlight through a window falls on beautiful dried leaves creeping into a room.  The window is in the Sandy Hook, NJ lighthouse.  While visiting there, I felt very strongly the years that had passed; I visualized the men and women who kept the light burning, climbing past that window every day, to warn ships not to stray from the safety of the narrow strait that was the only way to traverse the channel.  Both the leaves and the lighthouse are beautifully well-preserved.  Both shots taken with a Canon Powershot Pro 1 camera.
